Experience the magic of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf in a unique and humorous interpretation performed by musicians from the Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra.
Children will be introduced to various instruments of the orchestra, plus musical themes and characterization. WQXR’s Jeff Spurgeon narrates the classic folktale.
For the first half of the program, members of the Conservatory’s faculty will explore the music of West Africa with a live performance and an interactive program of singing, body percussion, and movement. Kids will also have the opportunity to get up close with the instruments they’ll see played on stage with a musical instrument “petting zoo.”
