Composer-pianist Vijay Iyer joined us for an evening of music and conversation presented by Q2 Music and hosted by WQXR’s Terrance McKnight.
Iyer, 2013 winner of the MacArthur “Genius Grant”, continues to galvanize the music world, creating works that embrace jazz, classical and electronic music. He was joined live in The Greene Space on April 23, 2014 by the world-renowned Brentano String Quartet.
The performance featured selections from Iyer’s newest album “Mutations,” just released on ECM, as well as selections from Time, Place, Action, a new piano quintet Iyer wrote for the Brentano which had its New York premiere recently at the 92Y.
