Designing the stage for Broadway's revival of 'A Raisin in the Sun'

When it came to designing the stage for the upcoming Broadway revival of “A Raisin in the Sun,” director Kenny Leon and set designer Mark Thompson wanted to create as much intimacy between the characters and the audience as possible.

The result? A moving set that Leon hopes will make the audience feel as though they’re sitting right in the living room of the Younger family’s South Side Chicago home.

Leon and cast members LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Sophie Okonedo and Anika Noni Rose will be live in The Greene Space Thursday, Feb. 27 to give us an inside look at the play. The conversation is sold out, but you can watch our live video webcast here beginning 7pm.

Before they sit down with us, get a peek inside the Connecticut scene shop where the stage is being built, with Leon and production manager Jarid Sumner:

The Greene Space is funded by you.
