Bringing Broadway’s Music to Life

Thursday April 25 2024 • 3:24am - 3:24am ET

Carmel Dean, musical director of “If/Then,” says one of her favorite moments in the process of bringing a new Broadway show to life happens about two weeks before previews. After having worked with composers and musicians and singers, that’s when the orchestrations are finally added in. “And it really just opens up the whole musical world of the piece,” she says.

You can get a first look at “If/Then” on Feb. 3 when we sit down with members of the musical’s cast and creative team during a live event in The Greene Space. In the meantime, take a peek inside the rehearsal studio with Dean, whose credits include “American Idiot” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
