Nine undiscovered musical acts from Staten Island competed on The Greene Space’s stage during a live concert on May 2, 2014. Then, voters chose their top five. Now, after a week of voting, there’s only one act standing.
The 2014 Staten Island representative in our Battle of the Boroughs is…Leila Hegazy! The singer-songwriter moves on to the final showdown, the Ultimate Battle of the Boroughs on June 27. She’ll compete against the other borough winners — including Manhattan’s 5j Barrow, Queen’s Annika and the Bronx’s Royal Khaoz — for bragging rights and prizes, including a showcase performance at the world famous Apollo Theater Amateur Night.
