Twelve undiscovered musical acts from Brooklyn competed on The Greene Space’s stage during a live concert on June 6, 2014. Then, voters chose their top five bands. Now, after a week of voting, there’s only one act standing.
The 2014 Brooklyn representative in our Battle of the Boroughs is…Heylady! The funk/soul band moves on to the final showdown, the Ultimate Battle of the Boroughs on June 27. They’ll compete against the other borough winners: Manhattan’s 5j Barrow, Queen’s Annika, the Bronx’s Royal Khaoz and Staten Island’s Leila Hegazy. They’ll be battling for bragging rights and prizes, including a showcase performance at the world famous Apollo Theater Amateur Night.
