An Evening with Juana Molina and La Mecánica Popular
Juana Molina performs live in The Greene Space, presented by Soundcheck and Latino USA
With the Latin Alternative Music Conference in town, Soundcheck‘s John Schaefer and Latino USA‘s Maria Hinojosa teamed up in The Greene Space on July 11, 2014 to present a night of live music and conversation about music, the art of performance and the state of creativity in Latin America today.
The night featured performances by singer-songwriter Juana Molina and psychedelic salsa band La Mecánica Popular – two musical acts who re-imagine Latin roots sounds in extraordinary ways – and members of Labyrinth Theater Company, who gave us a behind-the-scenes look at their theater troupe, one of the most diverse and exciting in New York City.
