Sir Ian McKellen talks about his life and career, live in The Greene Space

Sir Ian McKellen stopped by The Greene Space on Tuesday, February 18 for an intimate conversation on his life and career with The Takeaway‘s John Hockenberry.

McKellen is now co-starring with Sir Patrick Stewart in concurrent productions of Samuel Beckett’s legendary “Waiting for Godot” and Harold Pinter’s acclaimed “No Man’s Land.”

In this conversation, he talks about his performances in those bleakly mysterious works; his artistic collaboration and real-life friendship with Stewart; and his experience both hiding and now living proudly and openly as a gay man. He also shares his support of his X-Men: Days of Future Past co-star Ellen Page, just days after she announced that she is gay. “This is my moment to send her my congratulations, because I don’t have her email,” he said.
