Overview
Featuring New York premieres by Yale faculty Martin Bresnick, David Lang, Aaron Jay Kernis, and Hannah Lash, a work by Yale faculty Christopher Theofanidis, and a world premiere by Yale student Hilary Purrington. The evening also includes performances by Yale School of Music dean, pianist Robert Blocker, and selected vocal works by renowned alumnus Charles Ives.
Q2 Music host Helga Davis will be joined by New York Philharmonic Music Director Alan Gilbert along with select composers for on-stage interviews.
The concert will be followed by a NY PHIL BIENNIAL Play Date – a post-concert meet-up with the composers and performers over cocktails.
