The Greene Space will screen the 1960 film version of The Rat Race. This film, starring Tony Curtis and Debbie Reynolds, and directed by Robert Mulligan, captures the classic New York City stuggle of a young musician as only Kanin could write it. Gerry Mullligan, the jazz great, makes a featured appearance in the film – making this a must-see for Kanin fans, jazz enthusiasts, and movie buffs alike.
Immediately following, a panel of New York luminaries who are closely associated with Kanin’s work will reflect on the great American storyteller and his lasting legacy.
The Kanin Festival is made possible, in part, through the generous support of the Sidney E. Frank Foundation.
