Join The Greene Space for the world premiere of the audio theater adaptation of Garson Kanin’s classic Broadway play, The Rat Race. The Yorinks Theater Group has taken this timeless New York City landscape and – for the first time ever – adapted it into a work not only for radio, but for radio’s live audience in our multi-platform venue in the heart of Manhattan.
Running on Broadway in 1950, The Rat Race comes to The Greene Space on its 60th anniversary. During its tenure on the Great White Way, the play touched audiences and illuminated the familiar struggle of making it in New York. Ten years later, it was adapted into the classic film of the same name. Now, in 2010, Kanin’s work is as relevant as ever in this brand new audio adaption.
Lou Marini, Rick Wald, and Joe Randazzo head an all-star jazz ensemble that will perform the original score live in The Greene Space.
The Kanin Festival is made possible, in part, through the generous support of the Sidney E. Frank Foundation.
