WQXR Presents Classical Music Unfiltered
The 2014-15 Season in Review

As another concert season wraps up in classical music, WQXR presents a lively, thoughtful and humorous look back at the year’s highs and lows.
In this 2014-15 round-up, our panelists will cover a range of topics, including the financial and labor challenges that roiled the Metropolitan Opera and elsewhere; get predictions on conductor searches at major orchestras; consider political activism among artists; and debate how social media has made musicians more unfiltered – yielding both risks and rewards.
Plus: breakout performances, viral moments and why everyone is so obsessed with etiquette in the concert hall.
Guests include Justin Davidson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning classical music and architecture critic of New York magazine; Lara St. John, the concert violinist and label owner; Ben Finane, editor in chief of Listen magazine; and Vivien Schweitzer, a freelance journalist and music critic for the New York Times. WQXR General Manager Graham Parker hosts.
