The New York Times Podcast Club, IRL: “How to Be a Girl”

Monday October 15 2018 • 7:00pm - 8:00pm ET
In-person event

The New York Times Podcast Club

Overview

Born out of an informal brown-bag lunch discussion among New York Times colleagues, the Podcast Club has morphed into a Facebook group and our live-event series. At this hour-long event, you’ll get an inside look at “How to Be a Girl,” a podcast about a Seattle-based single mom raising a young transgender daughter. Ms. Mack (the creator’s pseudonym, used to protect her daughter’s anonymity) will discuss the series with Times critic-at-large Amanda Hess.

Doors open an hour prior to the event when attendees can wind down with themed cocktails courtesy of WNYC’s resident mixologist or co-create audio at the “Confession Corner,” before settling in for the discussion.

Drinks at 6:00PM | Program begins at 7:00PM

About Podcast Mixtape

This is a demo, a rough draft, a sample. Monday nights in The Greene Space we swap studio postproduction for real-time ruckus with tapings of your favorite podcasts, sneaky peeks of unreleased pilots and works-in-progress, conversations with the people who make great tape, and audio experiments of all kinds. Take the earbuds out, grab a drink, and get live with your fellow listeners.
