Overview
Inspired by the real experiences of high school students, Slut follows the story of 16-year-old Joanna Grace Del Marco. On a cold Friday night in January, Joey is sexually assaulted by three life-long friends: George, Luke and Tim.
How will one incident in the back of a taxi impact Joey’s life and the lives of her friends?
Slut boldly explores gender norms and today’s culture shame, and sheds light on the challenges facing teens as they develop sexuality and self. Since its New York City debut in 2013, the piece has reached sold-out audiences across the United States, and the globe.
Written and directed by Katie Cappiello and starring Amalia Yoo, Allegra Leguizamo, Jasmine Niang, Ella Stiller, Lola Buttenweiser-Blackman, Stella Fitzgerald, Nikita Bleyer, Lula Konner, Olivia Larsen, Priyanka Voruganti, and Mirabella Raschke-Robinson.
A talkback with the cast and creative team will follow the performance.
Vital, moving and absolutely necessary… one of the most dramatic accounts of these issues that I’ve seen. — David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker
