Podcast Mixtape: The Mash-Up Americans

Podcast Mixtape

Monday October 30 2017 • 7:30pm - 8:45pm ET
In-person event

Overview

The Mash-Up Americans is your guide to our cross-cultural, multi-hyphen, noisy, joyous, messy modern society. With laughter and blunt honesty, hosts Rebecca Lehrer and Amy S. Choi dive into a wide range of topics through a lens of race, culture and identity  celebrating the diverse communities that make us who we are and exploring what it means to be American today.

To launch the podcast’s new season, they dive into their very favorite topics: sex and relationships. They’ll be joined by Ti Chang, founder of the women’s luxury sex toy company Crave, for titillating conversation and a build-a-vibe demonstration; comedian Maeve HigginsSopan Deb, culture writer for The New York Times, and Tobin Low, co-host of the WNYC Studios podcast Nancy, for a panel on dating; and to close out the night, a conversation with Travon Free, an Emmy Award-winning comedian and writer whose work you know from Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, The Daily Show, and much more.

With music by legendary DJ Rob Swift of X-Ecutioners beginning at 7pm.

The Mash-Up Americans is produced by American Public Media.
