Performing Ayckbourn: A Radio Drama

This is Where we Came in Part of A New Theater of Sound.

Monday June 4 2012 • 7:00pm - 7:00pm ET
In-person event

Overview

Sir Alan Ayckbourn is an Olivier, Tony and Moliere Award winning playwright who has written 75 plays, more than half of which have been produced in London’s West End, as well as on Broadway and around the world. As an acclaimed director, he has worked extensively in the West End and has also run his own company at the National Theatre. The Greene Space presents a series of plays by this distinguished playwright in celebration of the enormous breadth of his work

In This Is Where We Came In a small group of StoryPlayers are ruled by the ancient, tyrannical, and downright eccentric StoryTellers Great Aunt Repetitus, Uncle Erraticus, and Uncle Oblivious.  Over the course of three crazy mis-tellings of classic fairy tales (including The Frog Prince and Hansel and Gretel) the mysterious Fred leads the Players in a rebellion, and in doing so he reveals a greater story where through ingenuity and courage we can all claim control of our own tales.

The Work of Alan Ayckbourn is presented as part of The Greene Space Initiative, A New Theater of Sound, in collaboration with Yorinks Theater Group.

A New Theater of Sound is made possible, in part, through the generous support of the Sidney E. Frank Foundation
