Emerson String Quartet.

Overview

Watch an encore video stream of The Emerson String Quartet‘s memorable performance, recorded live on our stage in April 2017 for WQXR in celebration of their four decades of music.

The renowned quartet has amassed an unparalled list of achievements over the years: more than 30 acclaimed recordings, nine Grammy Awards, three Gramophone Awards, the Avery Fisher Prize, Musical America’s “Ensemble of the Year” and collaborations with many of the greatest artists of our time.

WQXR’s Elliott Forrest hosted the evening, which also celebrated the release of their new recording, Chaconnes and Fantasias: Music of Britten and Purcell, their first on Universal Music Classics’ new US classical record label, Decca Gold.
