Manhattan Theatre Club’s After Words: “Venus in Fur”

Thursday November 17 2011 • 5:00pm - 5:00pm ET
In-person event

Overview

Here is an inside and behind the scenes look at the Broadway premiere of David Ives’ “Venus in Fur,” starring Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy. After its stunning debut Off-Broadway in 2010, which The New York Times called, “90 minutes of good, kinky fun,” this highly acclaimed two character play about the relationship between a hungry actress and a controlling writer-director is coming to Broadway and all the principals are coming to The Greene Space.

WQXR’s Elliott Forrest lead an intimate and dynamic conversation with cast members Nina Arianda (Tony Award nominee) and Hugh Dancy (Emmy nominee), playwright David Ives, and the play’s director Walter Bobbie.

After Words, a discussion and performance series co-presented with Manhattan Theatre Club’s continuing effort to deepen and enrich the play-going experience for the theatergoing community. Discussions featuring writers, directors, and actors provide provocative and illuminating insights into the artistic contexts of the work Manhattan Theatre Club produces.
