Overview

LIVE WEBCAST 9-11PM

It’s Friday, so WNYC will invite listeners in to let down their hair, sip a complimentary drink and mingle with Terrance McKnight of Evening Music and Femi Oke of The Takeaway. Amel Larrieux, Grammy award nominated veteran of the R&B circuit, performs for First Fridays at The Greene Space. This singer/songwriter draws on a wealth of influences from jazz, hip-hop, gospel and funky R&B.

Sharing the mic with her that night will be our New York City public. For 85 years WNYC has come into your home and you’ve heard us, now come into our home —The Greene Space—and let us hear you. It’s Open Mic Night at The Greene Space.

Sign-up for the Open Mic begins at 7:30 pm in The Greene Space lobby at 44 Charlton Street. Participation is based on first-come, first served. The performance should be a maximum of five minutes; performers who exceed this time will be cut off. We will try to accommodate app. 10-12 performers. All acts must be acoustical; one mic will be available; a piano is available.
