Panelists include John LaPolla of local homebrewers’ mecca Bitter & Esters, beer educator Sam Merritt of Civilization of Beer, homebrewer-turned-pro Chris Cuzme of 508 Gastrobrewery and Fuhmentaboudit and Mary Izett of My Life on Craft.
Everyone gets a tasting pour of at least four different beers, including California crew brewery Lagunitas, with snacks to pair with them from Bobolink Farms. Some lucky audience members will have a chance to taste home brews from Chris Cuzme, Mary Izett, Drew Nissen, Jason Sahler (Strong Rope Brewery) and Kyler Serfass. They’ll join our panelists in voting for the best home brew in the mix.
After the panel concludes, you’ll be drinking to a soundtrack of live music by The Bailen Brothers. Described by Entertainment Weekly as one of the “Top 5 indie discoveries of the CMJ music festival,” the band’s compositions have been called “impressively crisp, with a flawless brass section and two-part vocal harmonies to rival Simon & Garfunkel.”
