Digital Verse: Nuyorican Poets Cafe x TGS

For almost 50 years, the Nuyorican Poets Cafe has been a vanguard in the world of spoken word poetry and an iconic Lower East Side institution. Now, they join forces with The Greene Space to present a showcase of performers, both established and up-and-coming. This show, hosted by playwright/director Elaine del Valle, brings together poetry, stories and solo work. Poets include Reg E Gaines, Peggy Robles-Alvarado, Ray Jane, Paul LaTorre, Elisabet Velasquez, Darian Dauchan, Jenna Fliesen, Carlos Andres Gomez.
Elaine Del Valle is a director, producer, writer and casting director. She first garnered critical acclaim with her autobiographical, Off-Broadway stage play, “Brownsville Bred” for which she won the 2011 HOLA award for excellence in playwriting. Del Valle’s first short film, “Me 3.769,” premiered on HBO in 2019. Her latest short film, “Princess Cut”premiered at the Miami Film Festival 2020. This year, she was also chosen for the 2020 NALIP Media Summit Latinx Director showcase.
