Overview
New York City rockers THE NATIONAL earned “Best of the Year” raves and new fans with “Boxer,” their 2007 album fueled by dizzying sonic arrangements and singer Matt Berninger’s moody baritone. The Brooklyn-based band will visit Soundcheck to preview follow-up album “High Violet” before returning to New York in June to play a sold-out show at Radio City Music Hall. ROB SWIFT, the acclaimed DJ and mixtape favorite, will perform his latest album, “The Architect,” which sounds like a symphony orchestra conducted by Grandmaster Flash. Raised in Jackson Heights, Queens, he has been testing the limits of turntables and vinyl records since the age of 12. Now, Swift is blurring boundaries in two stalwart music genres: hip-hop and classical.
