Joined by accompanist Catherine Edwards, he’ll perform an intimate recital of chamber music for flute and piano. Davies, who has been with the orchestra since 2000, has played and recorded with many of the world’s great conductors including Gergiev, Sir Colin Davis, Haitink, Previn, Jansons, Rostropovich and Boulez. He can be heard on many LSO Live recordings, as well as many film soundtracks including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Rise of the Guardians and the Twilight saga.
In addition to performing, Davies is a teacher, lecturer, blogger, and author of the book The Show Must Go On, a memoir of the LSO on tour in 1912 and 2012. Hosted by WQXR’s Annie Bergen.
