Overview
Our recipe for Valentine’s Day magic? Classical music paired with craft beer!
Join us as we raise a pint glass to classical music’s great love affairs and epic breakups. We’ll hear some of the most romantic music ever composed, while drinking some of the best local beers ever brewed – including a love potion or two.
You’ll enjoy performances from real-life couple violinist Tessa Lark and bassist Michael Thurber; the Attacca Quartet; husband-and-wife pianists Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung; and tenor Stephen Costello, starring in the Met Opera’s production of Roméo et Juliette. (Pretty Yende, who was scheduled to appear, will now be singing in this evening’s performance of Bellini’s I Puritani at The Met, replacing Diana Damrau, who is ill).
Carton Brewing Company, Paulaner Brauhaus NYC, Sixpoint Brewery, and the KCBC (Kings County Brewers Collective) provide an array of fine craft beers for your sampling pleasure.
So whether you’re looking for the perfect date night or trying to mend a broken heart, we’ve got just what the doctor ordered.
Hosted by WQXR’s Matt Abramovitz.
